The Blues Heritage Museum and Gallery preserves the history of one of the only true American art forms, the blues, and is specifically dedicated to Robert Johnson, the renowned "King of the Delta blues Singer", as well as to singers and musicians of the central Delta area. This extensive collection of blues material has been compiled through the dedication and efforts of music historian Steve LaVere, who has operated in every facet of the music business on behalf of many Delta musicians and has overseen all licensing of the recordings, photographs, and compositions of Johnson since 1974. The museum is free of charge and open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday thru Saturday. The gallery features such items as calendars, books, t-shirts, as well as other items for sale. Leland

The Highway 61 Blues Museum, in downtown Leland, recently opened. The museum features exhibits on Blues legends including Jimmy Reed, Son Thomas, Willie Foster, Bougaloo Ames, and other artists from the Delta region. The museum serves a dual purpose - to honor the Delta's Blues artists and to educate the public about the Mississippi Delta's contributions to the Blues. Tunica

The Tunica RiverPark (Tunica) is slated for opening in September of 2003. This $23 million park is designed to highlight America's greatest river. RiverPark is located on 168 acres and will include a 37,000 square-foot visitor's center with a 48-foot observation platform, a climate controlled closed circuit viewing of wildlife in its natural environment, four large aquariums with native aquatic life, and interpretive exhibits focusing on the relationship between the Delta, its wildlife, the levee system, and the economic impact of the Mississippi River to the area. RiverPark will also have meeting rooms, a boat launch ramp for public use, and will house the "Tunica Queen", a 400 passenger/120-foot paddlewheel boat that will include dinner cruises. Genesis Gallery of Fine Art. Over 30 Mississippi artists are represented at this new gallery on Main Street. Genesis Gallery also features internationally known artists such as Marion Brown, Dale TerBush, Fred Yost, Paul Brown and Helen Gwinn, among other American artists from different states. Parker-Roark House Bed & Breakfast. This five bedroom Victorian home was built in the late 1890's and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Owners Garry and Elaine Roark offer the house as a meeting and convention destination as well as providing B&B service.
