Historic Chautauqua Park is a 74-acre site with wooded rolling hills & flowing springs. This natural area with its 2.5 miles of trails consists of cool, clear springs, spring-fed creeks, and a 35-acre lake. Wildlife found within the park consists of wading birds, waterfowl, and birds of prey - notably hawks, owls, and osprey. Deer, turkey, and foxes are occasionally spotted within the park. Enjoy one of several picnic spots located on the grounds and take a moment to visit with the many ducks and geese. The playground offers swings, slides and climbing structures for children. Structural amenities throughout the park include an amphitheater, gazebos and pavilions, a swinging bridge, a multi-level deck and an outdoor classroom.
|The boardwalk portion of this trail is elevated to give users a different perspective of forest life, from a "squirrel's eye" view. The trail crosses over a stream branching from Chautauqua Lake. There are also a few other trails for exploring in the park including one that travels over ridges and through a gully. The trail ends on the other side of the playground near the lake's edge.
