The Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center (Corinth), which broke ground in November 2002, is a multi-million dollar, 12,000 square foot attraction on 24 acres and is slated to open in 16-18 months. The center establishes an interpretive link between the Center site, the surviving earthworks and battlefields of surrounding Alcorn County, and Tennessee's nearby Shiloh Battlefield. CCWIC is a unit of Shiloh National Park.

Hernando

Holly Springs has three new Walking Tours and one new Driving Tour through the city featuring the historic churches and homes of this great town.

Kirkwood National Golf Club, located in Holly Springs, is the number 10 ranked course in the state of Mississippi. Kirkwood National now has 8 fully furnished 4-bedroom cottages available to golfers. Each cottage located on the course, will accommodate up to eight golfers and is equipped with a kitchenette and common area.

The rich history of Oxford Square is honored with the recent release of the Tourism Council's Audio Walking Tour, a 45 minute tape filled with historical facts and personal reminiscences about the city's downtown area.

Tupelo

The recently opened Tupelo Automobile Museum is a first of its kind in Mississippi and offers visitors a unique experience in touring its more than 100 restored automobiles. This 120,000 square foot museum features state-of-the-art automobile displays with interactive speakers detailing the history of each car. Open-viewing restoration bays, hundreds of antique automotive signs, a replica of an old garage and a gift shop are also included. For more information, call 1-800-533-0611.

A new life-sized bronze statue of Elvis, "Elvis at 13" (Tupelo) was opened last year, depicting the young Elvis as his hometown friends remember him. The statue is designed by Michiel Van der Sommen of Greensboro, North Carolina, who has designed other works for prestigious entities throughout the country. Elvis' Birthplace (part of the Elvis Presley Center which contains a museum, memorial chapel, gift shop, and park) is also undergoing additional renovations and expansions. Tupelo Buffalo Park - Open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. This unique attraction features a herd of more than 100 buffalo that graze on 170 acres, with the largest buffalo tipping the scales at over 2,500 pounds. Get on board a Monster Bison Bus and roam the frontier where you'll meet these fascinating creatures face-to-face. The park also features a petting zoo, exotic animals, a gift shop and a pavilion for special events. The Tupelo Buffalo Park promises fun and education for the entire family and is located just north of the Tupelo Regional Airport at 2272 North Coley Road.
