If you like to ride bicycles, horses or ATVs, or if you enjoy hiking, then there are some great outlets for you in Mississippi. Enjoy hundreds of miles of cycling on the beautiful, historic Natchez Trace Parkway, or in the expansive De Soto National Forest, or on the rugged terrain of the Clear Springs Trail System in the Homochitto National Forest. Horseback riding trails include the outstanding Shockaloe National Recreation Horse Trail in the Bienville National Forest. The Natchez Trace Scenic Trail also offers riders many incomparable experiences. The Longleaf Trace Trail is south Mississippi’s premier equestrian trail.
The Mississippi River Trail is a series of on-road, bike and pedestrian
pathways. The Underground Railroad Bicycle Route honors the Underground
Railroad by celebrating the bravery of those who participated in this
historic path. Hikers also enjoy the natural sights and sounds of
Mississippi in places like the 13-mile Appalachian Trail system around
Bear Creek in Tishomingo State Park and the Clark Creek Natural Area,
