Old Country Store & Restaurant

The Old Country Store is in a building that is over 100 years old and has been an incarnation of many things, the most recent being the home of a soul food buffet. Lunch consists of ribs, fried chicken (of course), greens, dirty rice, candied yams, and yes, there's cornbread involved, too. As for the fried chicken, some people say it’s the best they’ve ever had in their life and will swear by it when given the chance. Ask Mr. D and he will be glad to sing on the spot about his Grandmama’s cornbread.

c. 1875. Local crafts and the Down Home Southern Cooking Restaurant with the best fried chicken in the South. The building remains in its natural state, unrestored. Gift shop and flea market. Hwy 61 halfway between Natchez and Vicksburg-just off the Natchez Trace Pkwy., 1000 ASU Drive
