A system of three birding trails around Choctaw Lake as follows: Lakeside Trail - 1.2 miles of mixed pine-hardwood forest and lakeside; many species of woodland birds and large wading birds; Chata-Cabin Lake Trail - 1.5 mile trail through hilly, mixed-hardwood forest to and alongside Cabin Lake; interesting assortment of breeding songbirds; Noxubee Hills/Beaverlodge Trail - 1.6 miles trail through a variety of excellent woodland habitats of pine, mixed upland, and bottomland hardwood (some hilly), along creeks, small beaver ponds, providing excellent opportunity for viewing many species; birding brochure listing species and map available in Forest Service Office
