The Quail Run Nature Trail runs through an area that was placed on the Register of Natural Areas by the State Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks. Deer, turkey, raccoons, quail, armadillos, and numerous songbirds can be seen. Migratory waterfowl, shorebirds, and wading birds are winter visitors to Enid Lake, which borders the park. Bird of prey such as owls, hawks, ospreys, kites, and vultures are common. Winter sightings of bald eagles have been reported.
