Pipes Lake Recreation Area Birding and Wildlife Viewing Area

This beautiful area is located in rolling hills amid a pine and hardwood overstory. The 14-acre lake is nestled within the Homochitto National Forest. There is an unimproved hiking trail around the lake. Along roadsides, listen for yellow-breasted chats and indigo buntings. In spring you can hear the prothonotary warbler, hooded warbler, blue-gray gnatcatcher, and Swainson's warbler.
