The Leaf Wilderness is a 960-acre tract located in the flood plains of the Leaf River. All but the western edge of the wilderness, which is uplands, consist of meandering sloughs, oxbow lakes, and level terrain. Vegetation is mostly loblolly-shortleaf pine forest and oak-gum-cypress-spruce pine on the river bottoms. Access to this area is from the 1.5 mile hiking trail, the Leaf Trail.
