Our Family Farm offers group tours of a real working farm. Our goal is to help visitors learn about the role of family farms in agriculture and the FUNdamentals of Farming. The Neergaard family owns and operates Our Family Farm.Visitors will see a variety of modern farm equipment used for tilling, planting, protecting, harvesting, and transporting grains. They will also see a hay field and learn about the hay baling process, while watching horses and cattle in the pastures. A large variety of fruits and vegetables are at their peak in the summer and early fall. Springtime is preparation and planting season at the farm. Flower gardens, a children's "critter crop" garden, an herb garden, and several varieties of trees, including pecan, enhance the picturesque farm homestead. In the fall, there is a cotton patch, a pumpkin patch, and a melon patch as well as "crop plots" of soybeans, corn, cotton, and wheat. Check out our great Halloween events, which include a corn maze with over a mile of trails; a shorter trail is also available. Optional activities provide additional learning opportunities for all ages. There is much to see and do at Our Family Farm. We harvest food, forage, fiber, and fuel as well as fun and recently added is a new playground and farm store. Explore the corn maze, pumpkin patch, cotton patch, corn field, bean patch and rice paddy gardens along with fruit, vegetable, herb and flower gardens. Discover pecan orchard and marvel at the modern tractors and farm equipment along with the antique farm equipment used not-so-long ago.
