36-mile outstanding scenic biking route on the Natchez Trace and countryside around Church Hill passing some of the most unique historic sites in the state. Park on Natchez Trace north of Highway 61 Exit, at first exhibit on right. Travel north on Natchez Trace to Highway 553/Emerald Mound site, approx. 2 miles. Turn left on Highway 553. Travel north on 553 past The Cedars, Lagonia and Christ Episcopal Church. Continue on Highway 553 heading east past Old Country Store on the right, Springfield Plantation on right to Natchez Trace exit. Exit onto Natchez Trace, heading south (right). Cycle on Natchez Trace back to starting point. You will pass Mount Locust on right (Mile Marker 16). Other historic sites can also be seen during ride back to starting point. To add distance to your ride, begin at Natchez Trace terminus, 9 miles south of first exhibit referenced above. This will add 18 miles. NOTE: Route not as hilly as Windsor Ruins Loop
