Hattiesburg Country Club was founded in 1919, and after a fire destroyed the original building, it was rebuilt in 1959 in its present location. Since then, the golf course has matured and evolved into a unique test of shot-making skill, which was enhanced in 1999 after an imaginative redesign by Max Maxwell. Today, our 18-hole, par-72 golf course is recognized as one of the finest and most enjoyable in the state.
HCC has hosted numerous tournaments over the years, including the U.S.G.A. qualifiers, State Amateur Championships, and State Opens. From 1968 until 1993, HCC hosted the PGA TOUR’s Magnolia Classic, originally held in April during the same week as The Masters, and as a result, some of the biggest names in professional golf walked among the towering pines lining the course’s fairway.
