Beatty Street Grocery

Some Jacksonians say that Beatty Street Grocery has the tastiest hamburgers and white bread BLT's.  Be prepared to wait in line if you go at noon.  Mack Baldwin bought this old neighborhood grocery store in 1940 and added the kitchen in 1947.  His daughter, Carolyn, and the next generation are involved in this Jackson tradition.  It has been said that every Governor of Mississippi for nearly the past half-century has eaten there and some Governors still do.
