Charlie’s Catfish in Ellisville has been in the Rayner family for almost 40 years. The cement block building with green shutters made a good home for all intents and purposes. On the inside, the walls are covered with hand-painted murals of Mississippi life and lore, including the River, gators and frogs and the scene you see often in these parts: a catfish driving a horse and buggy.
