LOCAL CHEFS COOK AT RED, WHITE, AND BLUEBERRY FEST

Ocean Springs, Mississippi (June 1, 2009) – Local chefs and restaurant owners, Kenny Ward and Debbie Patout will be culinary guests at this year’s 4th annual Red, White & “Blueberry” Festival hosted by the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce - Main Street – Tourism Bureau and Ocean Springs Fresh Market on Saturday, June 6, 2009, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the L&N Depot parking lot in downtown Ocean Springs.

Kenny Ward, chef and owner of Kenny Ward’s Restaurant located in downtown Ocean Springs will be on site grilling skinless duck breast smothered in a tasty blueberry reduction sauce for attendees to sample. Debbie Patout, owner of Rene’s Quality Meats & Cajun Specialties on Government Street, will prepare Blossom croissants with crème Brule and fresh local blueberries.

The public is invited to attend this family, friendly outdoor event and enjoy FREE vanilla ice-cream topped with blueberries, strawberries or cherries, sample some of the best grilled and prepared dishes topped with blueberries, shop for blueberry bushes and relax with the cool sounds from musicians, Tom Beavers and Dan Quibell.

More than 20 Fresh Market vendors and blueberry growers will also be out in full force with great local items for purchase.
