Hancock County Welcome CenterHancock County Welcome Center is the culmination of a joint effort of the Mississippi Department of Transportation and The Mississippi Development Authority. Construction began on the Welcome Center in September 1978 by Roy Anderson Construction Company of Gulfport and was completed at a cost of 1.23 million dollars. The total cost of the center was funded with 90 percent federal and 10 percent state funds. It is the fifth and largest of the twelve centers along Mississippi's interstate system.
 
Hancock County Welcome Center InteriorThe Welcome Center encompasses 7,000 square feet on 60 acres of land at the intersection of 1-10 and Mississippi 607 along the Gulf Coast. It includes picnic grounds and rest area facilities and has the unique feature of a armillary sphere.
